Create an App Developer Account

To create an Edmodo Connect App, you must first create a App Developer account. To do so:

  1. Visit homepage and click the “Register as an App Developer or Content Publisher” button
  2. Fill out the form
  3. Follow the instructions in the email generated after completing the form

Once logged into your App Developer account

To request Edmodo Connect credentials, within your App Developer account:

  1. Click the Edmodo Connect tab
  2. Fill out the form to request your Client ID and Client Secret

Note: Requests usually receive a response within 24-48 hours

Implement Edmodo Connect and test the integration

Within your App Developer account:

  1. Select the Dashboard tab
  2. Click the “+ Create New App” button and fill out the form (Note: Make sure the App URL provided is application’s callback URL)
  3. Test the integration using the pre-made test teacher and student accounts found on the bottom of the Dashboard page

When ready to publish your App

When the integration is complete, email the apps team ( and they will grant you permission to list your app in Edmodo Spotlight. The Edmodo Apps Team may have questions about your apps(s) and will provide you with feedback.

How Teachers and Students Get Apps

There are several options for Teachers to share an app with Students.

  • Click on the “Share on Edmodo” button on any Spotlight resource page. This will allow you to share the Spotlight link as an attachment to a Note.
  • Click on the “Add to Edmodo Library” button on any Spotlight resource page. This will automatically add the Spotlight app to your Library. From here, you can share this resource with your Group Folder. More info here.
  • We are also building the ability for teachers to assign any Spotlight content to their students, allowing their students to access the content through their App Launcher. This functionality should be ready by Back to School 2016.
